From the Garden

It's just about June, the radishes and turnips are plumping up and already a lot of work has gone into the Farm.  This is our first year doing the vegetable share so we are learning as we go.
The first thing we've tried to tackle this year so far was the greenhouse which ended up being a little more working then anticipated, after rethinking the design a few times we now have a green house that is 90% complete that we hope to use to grown heat loving plants over the summer and extend the season for cool weather crops in the fall.

Another thing we did in preparation was have a neighbor come over and expand the garden with his tiller.  We later added a few truckloads of cow manure which we rototilled into the garden.  Unfortunately the tiller pictured was stolen which we have since replaced.
The past couple of weeks we have seeded and planted a wide variety of veggies in the garden including Turnips, radishes, salad greens, spinach, cabbage, broccoli, kale, corn, summer squash, winter squash, cucumbers, okra, eggplant, carrots, beets, and other surprises!  We will be able to start pick ups and share distributions the second week in June.  We will have Radishes, a few turnips, and some salad greens to get the season started.

Thank you everyone for your support!  We are looking forward to providing you with farm fresh food this summer.  Keep Checking back for more updates.
